Who Should be Vaccinated ?

Persons 65 years or older.

Residents of nursing homes and other chronic-care facilities.

Adults and children who have respiratory diseases (including asthma) or heart disease.

Adults and children who have a chronic disease (e.g. diabetes or severe anemia), or immune system problems (e.g. HIV infection or receiving medications such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy.)

Children and teenagers (6 months to 18 years) who are receiving long term aspirin therapy and might be at risk for Reye’s syndrome.

Women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy during the flu season.

Healthcare workers, and persons employed by hospitals, clinics, offices, and long-term care institutes that directly care for and have close contact with person’s at high risk for complications of flu.

People who are sensitive to eggs should not receive the vaccine. Those who are ill with a fever should wait until symptoms disappear before receiving the vaccine.

COST: $20 or FREE with Medicare Part B or Illinois Employee/Retiree ID
